Packing for a World Traveling Trip

Packing for a World Traveling Trip

Lots of time on Pinterest!

What my plan is.

  • Pack light, really, really light. One carry one per person. One light backpack.
  • Capsule wardrobe, I'm going to give this a try.
  • Less is more, I always have to remind myself of this one!
  • No books, yes, kindle.
  • No screens for the kids. This will kill the chance of building perspective that I'm trying to gain.
  • Again, less, less, I want to be able to buy a few things along the way and I don't want to be burdened with stuff!
  • Bug spray!
  • Sun block
  • Sunglasses
  • International driver's license (need it for RV/Campervan)
  • Camelback
  • Backpack/overnight bag. (Thank you Renita!)
  • Power adapters (for various continents!), probably a few, since we'll have cameras, kindles, Macs for parents, and iPhone for parents.
  • Hat. I love a good sun hat.
  • Deck of cards. A must for our family.
  • Camera!!! and Extra memory cards.
  • Headlight, just one, we will be RVing in Australia
  • Light on clothes, I plan to layer. Since we're going from hot Thailand/Vietnam to cold winter in New Zealand. Expecting some chilly nights in southern Australia. I gotta get used to the south of NZ and AU being cold and the north being warm, so confusing for me!
  • Good walking shoes and flip flops
  • Cash, while we won't bring a bunch, I do want some.
  • Cash for the kids. We gave them each a $300 budget. That's about $4 a day per kid. This way they won't bug us to buy them a bunch of things. They have their money to spend on their things. Don't ask what my budget is!
  • Sarong, not sure on this one, but I read it's a must. I think I'll go with a big scarf that can double as a wrap of sorts. We shall see.
  • Rain jacket
  • Passport!
  • Towel. I got one of the kind that dry quick and pack light...thinking that it will come in handy. Just one. To share, am I crazy?
  • Light on the toiletries. Easy to buy these along the way
